Descants are for life, not just for Christmas.

This collection of 140 original descants brings some of that festive fizz to the rest of the year, giving uplift to hymns suitable for other significant celebrations such as Advent, Easter, Ascension, and Trinity, as well as popular hymns for weddings and civic occasions.

The descants have been collected over more than 30 years, written for a range of services and broadcasts.

Most arrangements are descants for trebles or sopranos; some include alternative harmonies for the rest of the choir to join in. 15 hymns have more than one descant arrangement.

The arrangements are also a useful resource for organists for last verse accompaniments as much as they are for descants.
